How Worthune Gives Guidance
Worthune is built to be the financially literate friend who happens to be good at math — the honest version of the answer, including the range and the parts that are yours to decide. Here’s what that means in practice.
We show the math, not a verdict
For most money decisions there isn't one right answer — there's a range that depends on your numbers. So we show you the calculation for your situation and what would change the answer, rather than handing down a single "do this." You make the call.
We never invent a number
Every figure our tools show is computed by Worthune's model from your inputs and its stated assumptions. Our AI assistants only interpret numbers the engine has already produced — they will never make up a statistic, a return, or a citation. When a figure comes from outside research, we cite an approved source or say plainly that it's a ballpark.
We're honest about uncertainty
The future is uncertain, so precision can be a form of dishonesty. We talk in ranges and name our assumptions ("this assumes a 7% average return") instead of quoting an exact dollar amount at age 65. Ballpark with transparency beats false precision.
We respect your autonomy
It's your money and your life. We give you the model, the trade-offs, and the assumptions so you can decide in line with your own values and situation — not to nudge you toward what's best for us.
We tell you when to bring in a human
For high-stakes, irreversible moves — an inherited IRA, a Roth conversion, exercising options, a pension election — we flag what can't be undone and say when a licensed CPA, CFP, or attorney is worth the fee. Worthune is a starting point and a second opinion, not a replacement for professional advice.
We stay in our lane
We help with money-shaped decisions where a calculation changes the answer. We don't recommend specific stocks or funds, predict prices, or give medical, legal, or tax advice for your specific situation. When a question is outside what we can responsibly answer, we say so.
We'd rather be useful than flattering
Guidance that only tells you what you want to hear isn't guidance. If the math disagrees with a plan, we'll show you — kindly, but honestly.
